CESSRST Fellow earned 3rd place in AMS Student Poster Session

CESSRST-II Graduate Fellow, Akarshna Iyer earned the 3rd Place Best Student 16Energy Poster Presentation at the2025 AMS (American Meteorological Society) Annual Meeting will be held in New Orleans, Louisiana, from January 12-16 2025. 

Akarshna’s poster was titled “Meteorology and Boundary Layer Structure Associated with Coastal Low-Level Jets During WFIP3” .  Akarshna is a CESSRST-II Cohort 2 Fellow at Hampton University. Her work includes analyzing wind turbulence in the Marine Atmospheric Boundary Layer through the use of wind lidar. This research will help with strengthening wind forecast predictions and models which can be used in advancing offshore wind energy.
