About NOAA-CESSRST

NOAA-CESSRST, a Cooperative Science Center (CSC), was established in 2016 through a national competition and is funded by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA, “NOAA/EPP Grant # NA16SEC4810008"). The participating institutions are geographically distributed across the nation and enjoy a high enrollment of under-represented minority students.

Summer Bridge Program

America COMPETES Act directed NOAA to create a 20-year NOAA Education Strategic Plan which included developing a diverse workforce for the United States.

Workforce Development

CESSRST provides several opportunities to enhance their preparation for the workforce after graduation. CESSRST uses Workforce development strategies such as training programs, internships and summer bridge programs.

Education

One of the goals of the NOAA-CESSRST Center is to educate and train a diverse cadre of students and early career scientists and engineers to become highly competent professionals in NOAA related STEM sciences.
