Biajani is a NOAA EPP Earth System Sciences and Remote Sensing fellow at the University of Puerto Rico, Mayagüez, and pursuing a master’s degree in Biological Oceanography. His research interests seek to enhance sargassum blomass estimation capabilities through advanced remote sensing techniques, including spectroscopy and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Leveraging these innovative technologies is essential in order to deepen our understanding of detecting and quantifying sargassum inundation events. This research helps NOAA meet its mission to understand and predict changes in Earth’s environment.
